Amazon Game Studios and Crystal Dynamics have released the ninth developer mini-documentary for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, this time detailing the enemies throughout the Greek ruins.
The latest episode follows last week’s overview of Greece and focuses on how different enemies are designed to force players to change their approach. Leopards, crocodiles, and Natla’s mercenaries each behave differently.
Leopards are designed to stalk and ambush Lara. They can move quickly through an area, leap long distances, climb tall walls, and disappear into shadows, holes, or tall grass. Players may hear one nearby without immediately knowing where it is.
Crocodiles pose a different problem by making water considerably less safe. Unlike their counterparts in the original Tomb Raider, the crocodiles in Legacy of Atlantis can freely move between water and land. They can wait underwater for Lara, grab her, and pursue her onto land at high speed.
Greece also introduces Natla’s mercenaries. These enemies use cover, reposition during fights, and attempt to flank Lara. Different mercenary types carry assault rifles, shotguns, and sniper rifles.
Enemy types can appear together as the game progresses. An encounter could combine mercenaries with wolves or a leopard, adding several attack patterns and positioning threats to the same fight.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis launches for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam on February 12, 2027.
